BMW has confirmed about the release of their next Luxury Sports car, The 2020 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe, This car will come out with some modifications, The biggest upgrade is in the engine of the car, for 2020 model year, this BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe will completely be powered with the new engine system. So let take a look at how The Next 2020 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe will look like.
Firstly you must know that we are going to analyze the 2020 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe prototype, not the real design of the car. So a little mistake maybe will happen 🙂
This new model will make its debut in November at the Los Angeles auto show. Its name is a bit misleading: unlike the 2-series coupe and convertible, which ride on a rear-wheel-drive platform and have two doors, this four-door 2-series offering will have front-wheel drive. It will be built on BMW’s UKL modular platform, as are the X1 and the forthcoming 1-series compact, the latter of which won’t be sold in the U.S.
For 2020 Model Year. The 2 Series Gran Coupe has adopted the front-wheel-drive architecture of the upcoming 1 Series family. Of course, the xDrive AWD system will be offered as an option or as standard with the most powerful engines. BMW is said to have ditched plans for an RWD layout because that would have made the car too expensive and too similar to the 3 Series.
The 2 Series Gran Coupe is approximately 4.5-meters (177.1 inches) long, roughly the same length as the current 2 Series Gran Tourer. Bridging the gap between the 1 Series Sedan and 3 Series Sedan, the 2 Series Gran Coupe is also BMW’s answer to the upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA.
When the 2 Series Gran Coupe debuts sometime next year, it will offer a range of 1.5-liter three-cylinder and 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Unlike the current 2 Series Coupe and Cabriolet, the five-door model won’t offer six-cylinder power plants.
The range-topping M235i (or M240i according to some sources), likely the one you see in these shots, will use the 2.0-liter turbo-four that recently debuted in the X2 M35i. As a result, the M235i Gran Coupe will offer 302 hp (306 PS) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque.
